Ayako + Huw

Ayako and Huw’s wedding at Swallowfield Vineyards incorporated both Japanese and Australian elements to celebrate both cultures of this lovely couple. Their day featured a sea of native florals & foliage, delicate origami placecards, 1000 origami paper cranes and beautifully wrapped personalised gifts for each guest, direct from Tokyo. Vows were exchanged under the generous shade of a huge old oak tree with our Birch Arbour as the backdrop, styled with King Proteas and other pretty natives. The Ceremony was followed by an intimate long lunch inside the rustic surrounds of the Winery, set in an old stables. Beautiful large native floral arrangements greeted guests at the Winery Entrance on aged wine barrels either side of the doors. Tables were styled with crisp white linens, overflowing with native florals in a palette of red, orange, yellow and white, with gold cutlery and bespoke hand-made touches. Glass hurricane lanterns and tealights in glass jars were scattered throughout the Winery for extra ambience. The Wedding Cake, also styled with native florals, was a traditional fruit cake made with love by the Groom’s Mother.
